CPCS is providing ongoing support to Switzerland’s Engagement for Increased Conflict Sensitivity of Water Management in the Bekaa. The project has the purpose of assisting the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) Office in Zahle in conflict-sensitive planning and implementation of its Bekaa Water Management Programme (BWMP), together with its key partner the Bekaa Water Establishment (BWE). The project is joint owned by SDC in Zahle, and the Human Security Division (HSD) team based in the Swiss Embassy in Beirut. CPCS made an initial field visit to Bekaa in November 2020 to kick-start the project.
