Women Peacemakers - Before and After 1325

U.S. Women Peacemakers At Home and Overseas

Ambassador Swanee Hunt, with Rajaa Altalli as discussant, December 2nd 2021.

This event marked the second session of the Center's Speaker Series on Women, Peace, and Security. The session ‘Women Peacemakers Before and After 1325’ aims to further the discussion on the implementation of UN Resolution 1325 and its implications from the U.S. and global perspectives. For this event, we were honored to host Ambassador Swanee Hunt as the keynote speaker.

Swanee Hunt has worked as a policymaker and mediator in more than 60 countries. Currently, she chairs Inclusive Security, a Washington-based non-for-profit organization that consults with policymakers and decision-makers to involve women in peace and security processes. Due to her extensive experience as an ambassador, academic, diplomat, negotiator, and policy advisor, her insights will be invaluable to better understand the critical roles women play in advocacy, leadership, security, research, and policymaking.
